The man who saved the world

A couple of things that surprise me about this article.

Why didn't I know about this incident before? I never realised that we've been THAT close to another world war. And - although it shouldn't surprise me - that there were significant bugs in software that could have wiped out large sections of humanity. Hmmmmm.
