Christmas is bollocks

Never again. I don't which bit makes me sad the most. The obscene amount of money spent, the sheer amount of presents that the kids are mentally incapable of coping with, the sick translation of love into money, and money into debt.

I can't believe it is 5 years since I did this and we still succumb to the bullshit.

No more. I've made a promise to myself. I will not allow ourselves to be part of the shit again, even if it means we don't celebrate it at all. end of rant. aaagggghhh.

OK now I've settled down I can comment with a bit more clarity. The frustration for both of us is that when you have kids you're more trapped into a way of behaving that you wouldn't necessarily be if you had none or were single.

We will probably go away next year - but a lot may have changed to the way we are living our lives by then so it may be a moot point.

Don't usually get the chance to put my two pence worth in....not here at least.PPPPPPurlease!! Spare a thought for all the women who shop, cook, clean, invent new ways in which to keep the spirit of Santa alive in the hearts of all children. The same women who never receive Christmas gifts, attend all kids performances and nativities, write the cards, wrap the presents... Somebody is keepin' something alive, Nuff said?....

Hey Mark - agreed! We dropped out of christmas this year (easier to do without kids) and stayed at home with ourselves.....and the stuffed ferret Jill bought me (rescued from a vat of them in ikea!).

Lots of love,
T&J

Mark. You are right.Spare a thought for all the women.....keeping the spirit of santa alive in the hearts of our children????? What a load of fucking bollocks. Christmas is nothing more than legalised racketeering and profiteering by businesses who couldnt give a flying fuck about anything other than increaseing their profits. The UK has been going the same way as the USA for ages now, .....no real culture, sad people trying to fill the voids in empty lives, living on the never never watching X Factor while trying to work out a means of paying for it all. Its all completeley unsustainable and will go tits up eventually...Get yourself over to France mate is my advice...
